Admissions Process

Tours of the School

Our Prospective Parents Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 19th November 6-8pm. You are not required to book for this event. Day tours can be booked through reception and will be held w/c 25th November Monday - Thursday. 

Year 3

The application process for the main intake to Cleves at Year 3 starts as your child joins Year 2. Applications open on 4th November 2024 for September 2025 intake. The deadline for Year 3 applications for September 2025 is 15th January 2025.

Any application received after 12th February 2025 will be treated for waiting list purposes alongside on time applications, with any places allocated according to Cleves school's admission criteria and not according to the date the child was added to the waiting list.

Applications received towards the end of the summer term or during the summer holidays may not receive an outcome until the start of the autumn term, due to school closures during the summer break.

Offers

The admission criteria are applied to all applicants regardless of which preference Cleves may be (1,2,3 or 4) and offers are made on 16th April 2025.

Cleves is part of the Equal Preference Scheme as described above and the Co-ordinated Offer Scheme which means that all offers for the main Year 3 intake are made on the same date (as set by Surrey County Council) as all other schools.

In Year Applications 

To make a late application for Year 3 starting September 2025, please click the link below.

In year application

To apply for a place at our school in year, applicants complete form IYA-SCCCMA which is available on Surrey's website at https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/in-year. Applicants can complete this form regardless of where they live as there is no requirement for in year applicants to apply to their home local authority. A copy of the application, should be sent to us to be considered, and, if refused, give reasons and information about the right of appeal, whilst being asked if they wish to be placed on the waiting list.

Should a place become available for a pupil to join the school at a time other than when transferring from Infant School, the Trustees will apply in order the principles set out in the over subscription criteria (see admissions policy on right).

Appeals

Appeals for entry to Cleves should be addressed to the school in the first instance. Please contact
admissions@cleves.co.uk

Should you not be allocated a Year 3 place at Cleves School you have the right to appeal the decision
to an independent panel against the Trustees' decision not to offer your child a place.

Your reasons for appealing will then be considered by an independent panel.

The deadline for appeals is 20th May 2025.

Appeals lodged after 20th May 2025 may be heard at a later date and after appeals received by the
deadline.

All appeals received by 20th May 2025 will be heard on weekdays in late June/July 2025.

You must read the guidance notes before you complete your form.

For applications made in the normal admissions round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days
of the deadline for lodging appeals.

For in-year and late applications, appeals must be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being
lodged.

Primary School outcome date Wednesday 16th April 2025 

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Transfer to Secondary School

You will need to apply for your Secondary School place as your child joins Year 6.

The deadline for Secondary school application is 31st October 2024.
